REAL ALE
The Hawkley Inn is an established real ale pub that has been offering a wealth of local and regional cask ales for well over four decades. They are kept in just the right conditions in our basement cellar and lovingly cared for by our dedicated cellar team, and watched over by Charlie, a former landlord of The Hawkley Inn, and our resident ghost! We champion a plethora of local micro-breweries from our seven hand pumps – Red Cat, Triple fff, Bowmans, Langhams, Longdog, Flowerpots, Flack Manor, Andwell and Greyhound to name just a few – all who are based in Hampshire or West Sussex, whose ales are loved by both our local customers and visitors alike; indeed many come from miles around to sample the wares and who are we to argue? In terms of house ales currently we offer Perridge by Flowerpots, Hawkley Good Ordinary by Greyhound and Dorset Gold by Palmers. The ales on the other four pumps are changed after every barrel. The Hawkley Inn was awarded the prestigious title of the ‘Jim Fox Pub of the Year 2008’ by the Portsmouth and South East Hampshire division of CAMRA.
